Summer Reading Club 2015

on Fri, 06/19/2015 - 10:52am

Every Hero Has a Story, WMTL’s Summer Reading Club, begins Monday, July 6 and continues through Sunday, August 9.

Here’s how SRC 2015 works:

  •  Pick up a reading log at the Library, or print one from our website at www.wmtl.org.
  •  Track the amount of time you spend reading in your log each week.
  •  For every 60 minutes you read, cross off one READ starburst from the weekly coupons in your log.
  •  Fill out the back of the coupon with your name, phone number, and total reading time.
  •  Bring your reading log to the Adult/Teen or Children’s Services desk and a librarian will collect your completed coupon.
  •  Readers who complete all five weeks of reading will receive a surprise.

All returned coupons are eligible for a Grand Prize. Winners will be announced at the Ice Cream Social & Sing-Along on Tuesday, August 11 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.

Students! Any reading you complete for your school's summer reading assignments can also count towards WMTL’s Summer Reading Club. Join our Every Hero Has a Story Summer Reading Club today and win a prize while you read your way through the summer!

Questions? Please call the Adult/Teen Services desk at 973-728-2822 or the Children’s Services desk at 973-728-2823 and we’ll help get you started.

Seed Exchange Bank @ WMTL

on Tue, 04/21/2015 - 3:37pm

A Seed Exchange Bank is taking root in West Milford and WMTL is pleased to partner with the 4-H Velveteens of Passaic County to cultivate this worthy community project. Seeds have been generously donated by Lake Valley Seed of Colorado and High Mowing Organic Seeds of Vermont.

Backyard gardeners can easily participate beginning Thursday, April 23!

  • Visit the Circulation Desk.
  • Check out up to 10 packets of flower, herb, or vegetable seeds.
  • Bring your seeds home to sow and grow.
  • At the end of the season, reap what you sow and return your harvested seeds to WMTL.
  • Enjoy!

While every seed offers the hope of a bumper crop, no green thumb guarantees are provided for the Seed Exchange Bank! Share your gardening stories at https://www.facebook.com/seedsoffaiths.

Interested in an additional seed exchange opportunity? The third annual Seed Swap will be held as a joint event of the 4-H Velveteens and the Time Bank of West Milford at the monthly potluck dinner on Monday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Community Center.
